There once was a land called Alagaesia. And old and very proud land that was home to the Dragon Riders, the elves, the Urgals and many more strange and beautiful creatures. But this story does not take place there. Alagaesia froze over many years ago. The legends of it died away, but the memories of the creatures lived on.
